Meet Jan Conti
Network Management Administrator,
Community Care
Jan Conti has been working in a provider contracting capacity for
25 years. She has extensive experience working for both general medical
and specialized managed care organizations as well as insurance companies.
She has also worked with physician practices, independent practice
associations and worker’s compensation.
Jan made a decision approximately three years ago to take her skill
sets and move them into the non-profit environment. She enjoys
the challenges she has been provided at Community Care especially
since Community Care has now moved into a major growth mode, which
involves fast paced provider network expansion.
Jan is clearly a woman with entrepreneurial spirit. When asked what
makes her tick, she doesn’t hesitate: “Start ups, fast
growth, a dynamic environment.”
Through her drive and hard work (and the good fortune of having
excellent mentors, she adds), she had moved up the ladder and had
a prime post in a large, international insurance company. It should
have presented the challenges on which she thrives. Instead, Jan
found it “convoluted, complicated and cumbersome – not
to mention cut-throat. I couldn’t see the impact of anything
I was doing,” she says.
When she heard one of her mentors was very happy working with a
non-profit, Jan decided to explore the non-profit sector as well.
Three years ago this November, she brought her exceptional talents
to Community Care and it has proven to be a win-win situation.
“It is my joy to work in this organization, where I am able
to see what we do to help others on a daily basis,” says Jan. “On
top of that, I am very impressed by our top leadership. They are
intelligent, ethical and dedicated to our mission.”
The icing on the cake – there is a lot to learn, says Jan. “I
like lots of variety and we’ve got it,” from a variety
of programs to expansion into new locations.
It’s not surprising that Jan’s sense of adventure and desire
for challenge is also reflected in her choice of leisure activities:
deep sea fishing, snorkeling and horse races. But with the pace of
activity at Community Care, she is happy these days to explore the
world inside the pages of a good book. |
