For Community Care, 2006 was a year of building, when we laid the groundwork
and extended infrastructure – all in support of an anticipated major expansion
of services. In the past we have consistently maintained an average growth rate
of 19%. In 2007, we expect a leap to a growth rate of 60%.

of the Tau Award. The Tau Award recognizes those who demonstrate
exceptional leadership in promoting the value of older adults. “Through

A shortage of long-term care services has had hundreds of Racine
County residents on waiting lists, some for as long as 10 years.
Community Care was contracted by the state Department of Health
and Family Services beginning in January 2007 to work toward eliminating
waiting lists for all long-term care services within three to five
years. At the end of August 2007, the waiting lists in Racine were
eliminated.
Community Care’s role has been to expand access to community-based
long-term care services for low-income seniors and people with
disabilities, including those on waiting lists, as well as those
previously receiving services through Racine County.
Email addresses at Community Care recently changed to an easy-to-remember format.
