If you enjoy serving others and the company of older adults, you’ll find many meaningful volunteer opportunities through Community Care. Whether you have a lot of time to share or a little, we have important work for you to do. Our participants will appreciate your company and conversation. 1. Alzheimer’s Summer Picnic: Join us for our annual summer picnic for our Alzheimer’s unit. Help is needed in setting up, running carnival games, helping with lunch, assisting participants and cleaning up.
2. Annual Summer Picnic: Help out and have fun at our Annual Summer Picnic.
3. Arts and Crafts/Ceramics: Share your creative arts and crafts skills with older adults. Work with a group, leading them in making various arts and crafts projects.
4. Assistant for Annual Bake/Craft Sale: Help at our annual bake and craft sale held at our center during the day.
5. Assistant for Veteran’s Day Celebration: Help with our annual November Veteran’s Day event.
6. Bus Trips/Field Trips : Share a fun field trip event with older adults. You can help by assisting participants in wheelchairs and socializing with participants.
7. Entertainment: Entertain older adults in our Adult Day Health Center. Singing, playing the piano and other instruments, performing magic shows, a slide presentation … wherever your talents lead you.
8. Fish Tank Care and Cleaning: Clean and arrange fish tank at our group home for older adult to enjoy.
9. Men’s Woodworking Group: Share your woodworking skills with a group of older men. Lead a woodworking/craft group in an Adult Day Health Center facility.
10. Spanish-speaking Volunteer Friend: Share your friendship with Spanish-speaking older adults at our Adult Day Health Center. Assist with writing letters and reading, or just have conversation.
11. Scrapbooking Group Leader: Help older adults keep precious memories by overseeing scrapbook projects.
12. Sewing Walker/Wheelchair Bags: Work from the comfort of your own home, sewing bags that are a big help to older adults living in our group home.
13. Specialty Events: Spend time with older adults, helping them participate in fun activities, seasonal events and special days.
14. Volunteer Friend : Share your friendship with older adults at our Adult Day Health Centers. Visit our participants who would appreciate the individual attention.
